As in 2005 this year Gekko also received two top prizes at the prestigious DMA ECHO Awards finals 2006 in San Francisco. The win back activity ”U-Turn” for Statoil Retail was awarded silver and the lead generating campaign concerning charge cards, ”Dirt Crusher”, also for Statoil Retail, received bronze.
93 campaigns were awarded a prize – five of which went to Denmark – and two of these five went to Gekko. ”The Americans are seriously becoming aware of our competencies here in Denmark when it comes to relationship marketing,” says Finn Overgaard, CEO of Gekko who was in the USA to bring home the prizes. ”I was contacted by many marketing people from other countries who were quite impressed of the quality of the Danish campaigns. This shows that we are quite far advanced both strategically, tactically and creatively in this country,” he concludes.
